Day 01: Reception at Kathmandu International Airport (1,320 m/4,330 ft.) and transfer to the hotel

Upon your arrival at the bustling capital city of Nepal, the Travel Away Trek team will warmly greet you at the Tribhuvan International Airport and facilitate a smooth transfer to your hotel via our private transportation.

In the evening, you will have an opportunity to engage in a comprehensive trek orientation session with your knowledgeable guide, where you’ll go over the itinerary of your 7-day journey to the base camp of Mount Everest and make necessary preparations.

Stay overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu, comfortably resting up for the upcoming adventure.

Day 02: Journey from Kathmandu to Lukla (2,840 m/9,318 ft.) & Hike to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m/11,286 ft.). Trek duration: 6-8 hrs.

Early in the morning, we will embark on an unforgettable flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, where the incredible beauty of the surrounding terrain will be on full display.

Upon landing at Lukla, we will be greeted by our support team, including porters and crew, who will help to organize our gear and supplies. Then, it’s time to begin our trek to the vibrant town of Namche Bazaar, which will take us approximately 6-8 hours.

As we make our way towards Namche Bazaar, we’ll pass by picturesque locations like Phakding and Monjo, where we can enjoy breathtaking views of prominent peaks like Amadablam, Lhotse, and Pumori.

Namche Bazaar serves as the cultural hub for the Sherpa and Tibetan communities, and it offers an abundance of amenities, including bars, restaurants, and internet access. So, we will spend the night here and be ready for the next day’s adventure.

Day 03: Ascend from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche/Debuche (3,870 m/12,697 ft.). Trekking duration: 4-6 hrs.

Following a nourishing breakfast, we will embark on a journey uphill towards the picturesque destination of Tengboche/Debuche. As we trek, we will traverse through a lush forest of rhododendrons, towering pine trees, and alongside babbling mountain streams.

Along the way, we will be treated to breathtaking panoramic views of the mighty Mt. Everest, as well as other majestic peaks such as Amadablam, Pumori, Nuptse, and Lhotse. Tengboche is a renowned destination for trekkers and Buddhist pilgrims alike.

Tengboche boasts a rich history, home to the oldest Tibetan monastery, built by a Lama. Here, you will have the opportunity to delve into the culture, traditions, and heritage of the Sherpa people.

Day 04: A Challenging Journey from Tengboche to Dingboche (4,410 m/14,470 ft). Trek duration: 5-6 hours.

Today, we embark on an endurance-testing trek from Tengboche to Dingboche. This is a strenuous and arduous journey, but it is manageable for those who are seasoned in trekking and are physically fit.

The trek to Dingboche takes approximately 5-6 hours, during which you will traverse through stunning mountain valleys, serene pine forests, and gushing mountain streams, all while being surrounded by breathtaking views of the Everest region and the towering peak of Mt. Everest.

Day 05: Expedition from Dingboche to Lobuche (4,940 m/16,207 ft.). Trek Duration: 5-6 hours.

Embark on a picturesque journey from Dingboche to Lobuche, navigating through an up-and-down terrain. Your trek will be embellished with breathtaking views of the Himalayan giants, including Mount Everest, and the stunning mountain valley. You will also encounter numerous Mani stones, each carrying the inscription of the names of fallen trekkers, Sherpas, and climbers, along with an abundant presence of prayer flags. Day 06: Lobuche to gorakshep and to Everest Base Camp

Today marks a special day, as we embark on a journey to the iconic Everest base camp. Our day begins with a nourishing breakfast, and then we set off on our trek. We’ll reach Gorakshep for a filling lunch before making our way to the ultimate goal, the Everest base camp.

At the base camp, you’ll have the opportunity to soak in the breathtaking views and make memories that will last a lifetime. After a scenic time at the base camp, we’ll make our way back to Gorakshep, where we’ll spend the night in the finest available tea-house.

Day 07: Ascend Kalapatthar for Scenic Sunrise and Departure to Lukla and Kathmandu

Awaken to a beautiful morning and embark on a thrilling hike to the summit of Kalapatthar (5,545 m), known as one of the premier viewpoint spots in the Everest region. The journey from Gorakshep to the top will take approximately two hours, making it a perfect way to start the day.

At the summit, witness the breathtaking sunrise and a full circle of stunning panoramic views of the snow-capped peaks, including the iconic Mt. Everest, Khumbu icefield, Khumbase, Pumari, Cho-Oyu, Khumbu Glacier, Ama Dablam, and the famous Everest Base Camp.

After soaking in the grandeur of the view, head back to Gorakshep for a nourishing breakfast. Afterwards, soar back to Lukla via helicopter flight, and then take a scenic flight back to Kathmandu to conclude the unforgettable adventure.
