Overview

Langtang Valley is located in the Rasuwa districts of Nepal, about 104 km away from Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. It is one of the largest valleys in Nepal and is situated within the Sagarmatha National Park. The valley has two major trails. The Langtang trail goes up to Syabru Besi and takes approximately 5-6 days to complete. The Helambu trail passes through the Lama hotel, Gosainkunda, and Helambu villages and takes approximately 10-13 days to complete.

Engage yourself in a cultural immersion with the Langtang Valley trek. The trail takes you to an altitude of 5,000 meters and makes you face a challenging journey if you want to go further as the trails will take you up to higher mountains. Apart from that, there is a steep climb from Syabru Bensi to Tserko Ri which will be worth it once you see the sunrise from the top of the Tserko Ri.

If you’re feeling fit, head to the top of Ganja La Pass for a stunning bird’s-eye view, and then trek alongside forested valleys all the way to Ghopte. As you climb higher each day through birch forests, the mountain views get more and more spectacular.

The Langtang valley lies within the Rasuwa district of Nepal and is the hub of adventure tourism in the country. The valley is formed by the Langtang Lirung and Langshisa mountain ranges. Within it lies three high-altitude lakes: Langtang, Gosainkunda, and Bhurungdhu (Bhurung?). The trek moves through yak pastures to a local cheese factory and yak herding communities, giving you an insight into life in this mountainous environment.

Trekking in Langtang is a dream come true for every trekker. Trekking through this enchanting valley, you will experience a wide variety of landscapes with snow-capped peaks, yak pastures, and forests. Deep within the park, you will see the influence of Tibetan culture that reaches the remote areas untouched by the modern world. You can also see exotic wildlife such as black bears and red pandas.
